Gigi D'Agostino:
Luigi D’Agostino must be said to be the godfather
for the genre Mediterreanean Progressive. Since 1994 he has releases the
one hit after the other, in a close co-operation with Gianfranco Bortolotti.
Since 1998 he worked together with Paolo Sandrini, with who he released
big hits such as “Another Way”, “La Passion” and
“L’amour Toujours”. In 2001, where Paolo Sandrini left
Gigi to start the project DJRoss together with Rossano Prini, there was
a pause in releases from Gigi D’Agostino. This was mainly because
Gigi was admission at hospital from late 2001 until the beginning of 2002.
In 2003 Gigi started to return with new material. He started his new radio-show
at the largest Italian radio, RIN (Radio Italia Network) and at the same
time released two new compilations. In the end of 2003 he released the
EP “Underconstruction 1”, the first chapter of three EPs before
his album. On this EP, his latest single “Silence” could also
be found. “Silence” came out as an ordinary single in Januar
2004.
The style of Gigi D’Agostino has developed quite a lot throughout
the years. From the “dark” style from 1994 – 1997, to
the more commercial style from 1997 – 2001. The new style of Gigi
D’Agostino is more dark and specialized.
A boom of new releases from Gigi came in the spring of 2004. 2nd part
of his “Underconstuction” series, the single “Gigi’s
Goodnight” together with DJ Pandolfi and “Con Il Nastro Rosa”
–the first single of the new project between Gigi D’Agostino
and Molella. Before the summer-holidays he released the 3rd chapter of
his “Underconstruction” series and the 2nd single together
with Molella “Soleado”. Another new project from Gigi is “Moltofolk”
which he has started together with the vocalist of “L’amour
Toujours”, “Another Way” and “La Passion”,
Carlo Montagner.
After the summer-holidays of 2004 the release-boom of Gigi D’Agostino
continues.
He has released his new compilation “Laboratorio 1”, the new
single together with Datura “Summer Of Energy” and the new
EP “Nm057”.
In near future another new compilation called “Benessere 1”
will be released.
