DJ Lhasa:

Maurizio Braccagni aka. DJ Lhasa started in 1987 to play as a DJ. Before he started to release records under the name “DJ Lhasa” he was one of the guys behind the group Two Cowboys.
In 2002 the very first single of DJ Lhasa, “Heaven Is A Place On Earth”, comes out. It’s a remake of the old Belinda Carlisle track, but the track does not get any special big success. Later the same year DJ Lhasa releases his 2nd single called “Pinocchio” which get much better responds at the Italian market. Again with his 2nd single it’s a sort of a cover/remake, because the theme in the track is taken from the animated movie with the same name.
The real break-through for Mr. Braccagni comes in the spring of 2003 with his 3rd single “Giulia”. This track is ALSO a cover/remake of the old Italian track by Gianni Togni. Giulia became such a big success that Gabry Ponte made a remix of it. In the end of 2003 DJ Lhasa released his single “Together Forever” which is a cover of the old Rick Astley track with the same title.
On DJ Lhasa’s singles you always find to tracks, the main track and another secondary track which is not a cover/remake.
For the summer of 2004 DJ Lhasa released the single “No Controles” which was yet another cover/remake, but in fact a pretty good one!
DJ Lhasa’s remix of Ultrabeats’ “Pretty Green Eyes” is also worth to mention. In fact this remix was the start of a “tradition” for DJ Lhasa to remix every Ultrabeat singles. So he also remixed Ultrabeats’ next single after “Pretty Green Eyes”, “Fellin’ Fine” and he is due to remix their new single for fall 2004.
Also for the fall 2004 DJ Lhasa released a remix 12” of “No Controles”, and a remix for the Austrian group Deep Spirit and the track “Lonely”. His first album is expected for release in November 2004.
